Knitting My Way Through

This is hard to write about.

I left my husband on August 30, 2007, and since that time have been consumed by creativity. I am atoning for that destruction with creation. Every time I pick up the needles I am making a new thing, a wholly good thing, a gift. I've not made anything for myself since then. I've made a hat for a baby, mittens for my son, et cetera. I'm working on fingerless gloves for a little girl. Yet I still have so many projects that are no longer inspiring. I was going to make Christmas stockings for my family, but only finished my own. I got about 80% through Tyler's and then I bagged it. It's still just sitting there.

I was going to knit a sweater for myself (lacy, openwork) and managed to finish the front and part of a sleeve.

This year I want to finish things. I want to give things. I want to be grateful for each stitch, for each smooth color change, for each end woven in.

Nicely put. I'm striving to be content with the things I have, and to make the most of my time.
